Motorola Droid RAZR M Review

Motorola released a handful of Droid RAZR devices and the new RAZR M is no less interesting. One noticeable feature of the phone is the almost bezel-less design. If you want to have a unique display design, the Motorola RAZR M could be the phone for you.

Hardware

The Motorola Droid RAZR M is certainly an interesting device, but unfortunately, it also feels somewhat underwhelming. The 4.3” display is considered a sweet spot in the smartphone industry, allowing you to get a large display on a compact device. The original RAZR was ridiculously thin at 7.7mm and many considered it to be uncomfortable after prolonged use.

Thankfully, the RAZR M is thin, but not too thin, allowing you to grip it more firmly. The micro-bezel design is an important selling point of the phone, but unfortunately, the 4.3” display itself still leaves a lot to be desired. With such a small bezel area, the pentile technology on the qHD Super-AMOLED display is the last thing you really want to see. Although the company clearly misses the mark in this area, it shouldn’t be an issue for average user.

Design

Except with the thin bezel area, the RAZR M isn’t terribly unique when compared to other RAZR models. The phone is thicker at the top and the back panel may impress less people these days. Motorola is known for its preference toward solidly built device and the Kevlar material gives the phone great in-hand feel.

Camera

The RAZR M falls a little short in photography arena. Although you won’t see massive graininess on the images produced, the 8Mp camera suffers some issues when used in low-light environments.

Verdict

Other than the 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, there are also other things you’d love about the RAZRM. If you’ve been waiting for a moderately powerful phone with nearly bezel-less design, the RAZR M could be the phone for you. Avid Android users may wish the display is better, but this is just a minor complaint compared to the low price and other exciting features,.The phone won’t sway you from the likes of HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3, but it is still a great looking phone with a more than decent set of specs.
