The Sony Xperia GX
In recent months, there have been leaked details and photos of Sony’s new smartphone called the LT29i Hayabusa. Sony recently designated the Hayabusa as the Sony Xperia GX and it is developed specifically for Japanese consumers.
The GX will be one of Sony’s first LTE smartphones in the market and users may expect a data connection speed of up to 75Mbps. Sony’s new handset will feature a 4.6” HD display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of onboard storage and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The Sony Xperia GX’s biggest highlight could be the 13Mp rear-facing camera, which supports full-HD video recording.
The Japan-based electronic giant is also introducing new unique apps for the phone. The Walkman app is aimed to bring superior audio experience. The Movies app offers high quality audio video movie playback and the Album app offers an efficient way if managing high quality multimedia files.
The smartphone also has a highly optimized Facebook app that allows users to view posts, make comment and share photos smoothly.
Sony Xperia SX Preview
A Sony’s new smartphone has just made its entry and it is claimed to be the lightest 4G LTE available in the market. At a mere 95 grams or 3.35 ounces, the Sony XPeria SX is definitely very light. Unfortunately, the company is planning to keep its lightweight champ on Japanese soil only.
To keep its weight low, Sony uses a relatively small 3.7” qHD display, which uses the BRAVIA engine to produce more vibrant colors. Like its bigger brethren, the Sony Xperia SX uses the same 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Design wise, you won’t find anything unappealing; we are looking at a typical minimalist, rectangular slab.
The phone is also bringing a decent 8Mp rear-facing camera which supports 3D panoramic photography. Additionally, the Exmor R technology allows users to snap better photos at low-light environments. There’s an 8 GB of onboard storage and the 1.3Mp front-facing camera should be adequate for video calling. The Sony Xperia SX is slated for release on summer this year in Japan and there’s no word whether it will make its way to other countries.
